Federal election campaign disappointing to environmentalists
A number of environmental groups are speaking out against the lack of climate change debate so far during the latest federal election campaign.
John Bennett with Sierra Club Canada tells 660News it appears the leaders of the major political parties are more interested in sloganeering than serious issue-driven debate.
Bennett says Canadians want to know where the various parties stand on things like climate change and nuclear power.
He says in an effort to help educate voters they will soon publish the environmental policy breakdown of the Tories, Grits, NDP, Bloc and Green parties.
Sierra Club Canada is also disappointed that the leader of the Green Party, Elizabeth May, has been excluded from next week's televised leaders' debate.
