About the Quebec Chapter

DONATE

Sierra Club Quebec is a grassroots organization, which means we are member-based and it is our members who are the agents of change. Our mission is to empower people to address local environmental issues from a science-based perspective. Given this philosophy, a lot of the work we do is around conservation, advocacy, environmental education and increasing Quebecers’ exposure to nature.

Our focus in Quebec rests on a wide variety of issues ranging from the protection of wildlife and wilderness, loss of biological diversity, climate change, sustainable energy, nuclear waste, environmental toxins, clean air and water, to genetic engineering. But as a chapter of the Sierra Club Canada Foundation, we also share in the values that bring us all together, stated in the UN Earth Charter as the ‘Four Pillars of Sustainability’ (see www.sierraclub.ca/en/about).
