Dear friend,

As you may know, for the past two weeks more than 180 countries have been gathered at the UN climate talks in Durban, South Africa to work towards a global deal to prevent climate change from moving from crisis to catastrophe.

I just received a message from Hannah McKinnon, Campaigns Director for Climate Action Network Canada, who has been in Durban monitoring the climate change negotiations. Here’s what Hannah had to say:

We are now entering the final hours of the UN climate negotiations and many of the central issues remain in the hands of the ministers. This is a critical time to send an urgent message that the world cannot wait. We need a climate treaty NOW.

The Canadian Government has a choice: they can be part of the problem or part of the solution. They can choose to listen to the people or listen to the polluters. This choice is a moral choice and one that will not go unnoticed. Over the course of the conference, countries have called on Canada to show the leadership they used to expect. Canada has one day left to show the world we care about working with other global leaders to find a solution and do our fair share.

It is not too late! Please send a message to (Prime Minister Harper and Minster Kent) and tell them to put people ahead of polluters and be part of the global solution.

Let’s heed Hannah’s call to action and send a message to the Prime Minister and Federal Environment Minister. It only takes a few seconds. The clock is ticking so please send your message now.
