Dishes Pt. 2 : Recycling dish water (Day 3)
Submitted by Guest on Wed, 2010-03-03 20:51
So doing dishes last night took quite some time (30-45 minutes), but only about 1.685 L of water or so, so that's not bad considering the amount (and the quality) of dishes I did.
Overall, I used 10.514 L of water yesterday, even with the dishes! --AND the best part is that I got to recycle 1.89 L of that into my toilet tank to offset when I flush. Recycling water? Yes. Totally. It's called soft path. I'm going to be talking about it a lot this month.
I also think I'm going to put another bottle in the back of the tank. It'll totally fit.

Good call
You'll be happy to know that I've taken your advice, I've got this old Maxwell Coffee container (which ironically used to hold my organic waste bag for the green bin - and yes I cleaned it) and turned into a water bucket for dishes.
It's awesome. I'm saving a lot of water and it really doesn't take that long. All I need now is a soapy sponge and a little bit of water.
30-45 minutes!?! You must have a lot of dishes! :)
Cheers,
