You have to see this - Humpbacks at play in the Bay of Fundy

Humpbacks at play in the Bay of FundyNo matter where you are right now, I want you to take a quiet moment to watch this. Just stop and let it sink in. Aren't they magnificent?

It’s hard to imagine anything more beautiful than these whales being as free and as safe as they are in this moment, in the Bay of Fundy.

It’s almost unimaginable to think that these whales – borne out of ancient DNA– inhabit our own backyard, and who call our Canadian waters their home.

This is what you and I are fighting for – to protect the planets’ most amazing beings like these beautiful humpback whales.

It’s why I made a court appearance the week before the holidays. It has been a years-long fight just to get into that courtroom to do so, but your support made it possible.

I’m asking you right now to make a most special gift of support to save these whales.

We are waiting for a judge's decision on just the first phase of our legal challenge, and she will be deciding shortly if we can even be heard or not on the court case, and we will then be proceeding further still with this challenge.

Beyond that, we have to push with the legal battle against oil and gas companies and the regional/federal bodies providing the licences to drill. We must protect the Bay of Fundy and the Gulf of St. Lawrence – both regionally, nationally and internationally ecologically significant areas that are measures of the health of our planet.

We only have a few days left in the 2017 calendar. Please make a donation today in support of these efforts and be sure to receive a generous tax credit for doing so.

I cannot thank you enough for being among the most vocal supporters in helping to protect our whales. Please make your own gift of support today to help us fight in the courts to save these whales.

My deepest thanks for standing with us and with our whales,

Gretchen Fitzgerald - National Program Director
