Lindsay Telfer

Biography: Lindsay has been working with the Sierra Club Canada since 2002 when she started as Director of the Sierra Youth Coalition. Over the years she has worked for SYC, National and most recently as the Prairie Director. Born and raised in Stratford Ontario, Lindsay's interest in environmental issues emerged through her love of food and agriculture. She has a Master's degree in Environmental Studies from York University where she focused her research on International Trade Agreements and Agriculture and local alternatives to global food systems. Lindsay is an avid believer in power of communities to come together and organize both in support and in opposition. Most recently her work has focused on energy policy, the tar sands and clean energy solutions. She is an avid gardener, food preserver, rock climber and lover of the outdoors! Lindsay will be on Maternity Leave from March 2010-December 2010 as she revels in the love of new parenthood!
