Granny fights for children’s future

While most grandmothers will be enjoying Canada
Day watching their grandchildren play, 75-year-old Dorothy Cutting
will be starting a journey North to raise awareness about the
growing threat of climate change.
“It’s amazing when you care very strongly about something
you seem to be able to acquire an outside energy,” said
Cutting from her home on Salt Spring Island today.
“I want our neighbours in the North to know that we care
about what is happening to their homeland and their way of life.”
This grandmother is worried about the kind of future her grandkids
will have if she doesn’t do something about global warming
which she calls “global heating”.
“Warming sounds too soft and cuddly,” she said.
