The third People and the Planet conference was held in Ottawa, Ontario,
from June 9-11, 2006. Speakers included Elizabeth May, Paul Watson,
Maude Barlow, Greg Malone, Owens Wiwa, RH Thomson, Dr. Samuel Epstein,
Jerry Mander, Holly Dressel, Adrienne Maree Brown and many others. Topics
examined included climate change, water, biodiversity, food safety and
sustainable agriculture, faith and social justice.
The 2008 confernce will be another exciting and empowering opportunity to learn more about environmental and social issues, examine our values and change the world! It will also be our first fully bilingual conference.
