Webinar: How Climate Change is Affecting the Temperature of the Gulf of St. Lawrence

Join us for our final event of the ocean conservation webinar series! We're wrapping everything up with a presentation on climate change and its impacts on the Gulf of Saint-Lawrence marine ecosystem.

The waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence can be separated into three layers in summer: a surface layer in thermal equilibrium with the atmosphere, a deep layer that comes in from the ocean, and between them a Cold Intermediate Layer formed during the preceeding winter. Long term temperature trends of these layers are presented and related to climate change warming, with a quick look at the decreasing sea ice cover.

The event will be held on July 28th 2022 at 1p.m. Eastern Time/2p.m. Atlantic Time and will be presented by Dr. Peter Galbraith from Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
