Climate change is an increasing reality impacting our lives and planet. It is creating military conflicts, mass migration, devastating droughts, floods, hurricanes, wildfires and other extreme weather conditions that endanger plants and animals and threatening food supplies. Both our daily and our inner lives are affected; ideologies are pushed to extremes, while anxieties and tension rule our emotions. Artists have responded through imagery and content, formal innovation, and even by choice of art materials.

Twenty-three works explore this theme including drawing, painting, sculpture, book works video, photograph, print and mixed media. The finalists are: Peter Adams, Jane Austin, Sheiia Butler, Laurie D’Alessandro, Pamela Dodds, Dana Edmonds, Phyllis Gordon, Phil Irish, Teneke Jorritsma, JungHee Lee-Marles, Susan Low-Beer, Isabel Mitchell, Leigh Nelson, Duane Nickerson, Maureen O’Connor, Leena Raudvee and Clement Kent, Monique Resnick, Margaret Rodgers, Tricia Van Oostyveen, Carol Westcott, Wendy Whaley.

Andy Fabo and Mary Kainer were the exhibition jurors. Andy Fabo is a renowned Canadian artist and art educator, work recently exhibited at MOCCA.
