Join us for our final event of the ocean conservation webinar series! We're wrapping everything up with a presentation on climate change and its impacts on the Gulf of Saint-Lawrence marine ecosystem.
The waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence can be separated into three layers in summer: a surface layer in thermal equilibrium with the atmosphere, a deep layer that comes in from the ocean, and between them a Cold Intermediate Layer formed during the preceding winter. Long term temperature trends of these layers are presented and related to climate change warming, with a quick look at the decreasing sea ice cover.

Joignez-vous à nous pour notre dernier événement de la série de webinaires sur la conservation des océans! Nous terminerons le tout avec une présentation sur les changements climatiques et leurs impacts sur l'écosystème marin du golfe du Saint-Laurent.
Les eaux du golfe Saint-Laurent se départagent en été par trois couches: une couche de surface en équilibre thermique avec l’atmosphère, une couche de fond qui nous parvient de l’océan, et entre les deux une couche intermédiaire froide née l’hiver précédent. Les tendances de température de ces couches sont présentées en lien avec le réchauffement climatique, incluant un coup d’oeil au couvert de glace.
