Is Nothing Sacred? Offshore Alliance calls for oil leases near Sable Island to be cancelled

KJIPUKTUK (Halifax) - A coalition of fishing, environmental and tourism operators are coming together to protest new oil leases and offshore regulators that are putting Sable Island National Park reserve and our climate at risk. 

The Offshore Alliance will be holding a news conference tomorrow, December 13 to ask for Nova Scotia Energy Minister Derek Mombourquette, federal Natural Resources Minister Amarjeet Sohi and Member of Parliament for Halifax-Sable Island Andy Fillmore, to take action to cancel these leases and call for an inquiry into offshore oil and gas regulations.
