Prime Minister Mark Carney has stated that we have been attacked and we are now actively engaged in a trade war with the U.S. Government. Across the country we should be assessing the procurements we have in place with the United States.
New Brunswick Power has never been able to adequately justify the contract they signed with an American company. Did the threat of possible of blackouts ever warrant contracting to build a massive plant from Missouri to burn fossil fuels for 25 years. Especially when NB Power has yet to implement a Time of Use program which could address such concerns. New Brunswickers also learned over this past year that this utility did not do adequate research for implementing CHEAPER renewables with grid battery storage (Auditor General’s report) to improve the stability and reliability of the grid.
Given the present situation with the United States, New Brunswickers do not want ProEnergy in Tantramar or anywhere in our province. Cancel this Contract now!
