A Green Energy Seminar – Local Power: The Municipal Elections of PEI’s Energy Future (virtual) 
Join us for an upcoming webinar co-hosted by Sierra Club Canada and Energy Democracy Now Co-Operative that will explore the intersection between the upcoming Prince Edward Island Municipal Elections and the proposed development of two diesel combustion turbine projects in Charlottetown.
We are hosting two (2) webinar sessions on October 6th; 12 – 12:45 PM and 7 – 7:45 PM Atlantic Time.

Biodiversity Matters – Views for COP 17!
Thursday October 8, 2026 – PDT 2pm, MDT 4 pm, EDT 5 pm, ADT 6 pm, NDT 6:30
Join Sierra and RCEN to learn about the agenda and what our focuses are, meet our delegates Hannah Carey and Shauna Doll, and add your advice and voice to our messages for COP 17. We will focus on agenda Item 14. Mainstreaming of biodiversity and engagement with subnational governments, cities, and local authorities, and the progress on Kunming Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF), and how to enhance implementation which touches on most, if not all, of the agenda. Link to the agenda here. We will also touch on other items including the Rights of Nature and Oceans. More details will be posted here by October 4.

Let’s Talk Renewable Energy – Newfoundland and Labrador
Facilitated by Shauna Kelly, our Burin-based Energy Coordinator, Let’s Talk Renewable Energy brings people together to discuss practical ways they can be part of renewable energy development in NL.
These conversations will gather local knowledge and experiences to better understand how different communities want to participate in shaping a sustainable and inclusive energy future. Together, we’ll identify priorities, concerns, barriers, and opportunities to help strengthen local leadership, support community involvement, and help ensure that renewable energy development delivers meaningful benefits across the province.
