New Toolkit: Take Action on the Proposed Diesel/Gas Plant in NB
Decisions about new energy projects don’t just affect the grid, they affect our health, wildlife, the environment, and the cost of living here in Atlantic Canada. Right now, the proposed Tantramar diesel/gas plant could increase energy bills, lock communities into fossil fuels for decades, and put important ecosystems in New Brunswick at risk. When one plant is allowed, others may follow, possibly opening the door to fracking and gas pipelines.
This toolkit was created to help you:
- Take action
- Share your concerns with decision-makers
- Ask informed questions
- Spread awareness and organize with others in your community
What’s inside the toolkit:
- Background information on the proposed plant
- Key questions to ask your municipal candidates
- Local resources to learn more on organizations already taking action
- Templates for writing to municipal candidates
We know people care about reliable, affordable energy. We also know there are important questions about environmental impacts, and how this plant will affect our community. This toolkit helps you engage in that conversation. What better time to speak on this than during the May 2026 Municipal Elections? You can raise awareness, ask those important questions, and encourage municipal candidates to take a stand! Download the (English) Gas Plant Toolkit or Download the (French) Gas Plant Toolkit and take action in your community.
